Bournemouth :: The Beach
The beach around the Pier is usually used for tricking, but has some scope for big jumps with safe landings. Good for practising all variety of rolls.

Conditions: Promenade is well maintained and in good condition. Beach itself is usually clean, and has won awards as such. Caution needed nearer the Pier as there may well be broken bottles or syringes on bad days. The sand provides soft landings without being like falling onto a marshmellow.
4.5/5

Plod: Area is frequently visited in the evenings by police as it is also an underage drinking hotspot. In the days, there are security guards on the Pier itself. They generally seem to have been OK, but there have been minor incidents. During busy periods, people could become annoyed by you and call the police.
3/5

Supplies: Shops just around the corner for all manner of things sticky and sugary. Wide range of restaurants for the more upmarket traceur. Shops such as Lidl are a fair distance away, but incorporate other hotspots on the way.
3/5

Watch your back: Becomes very busy as soon as the sun shines just a little. Best in winter or on cloudy days. Problem with drinking kids in the evenings, and possibly rowdy adults further along towards Westbeach.
3/5

PK heaven: Sand provides nature's crashmats, but as mentioned above, watch out for the odd sharp or stone. Plenty of scope for flipping or jumping off promenade or Pier. Very slightly west of the Pier there is a slightly sloped wall for vaults, but nothing special. Further west there are crescent shaped outcrops off the promenade with benches on them and railings around, with potential for vaults or more ambitious diverolls.
4/5

Overall: Nothing special for non-tricksters that cannot be found elsewhere, but can be good for most traceurs training diverolls or landing rolls.
For traceurs: 3/5
For tricksters: 4/5
